Forging Paths of Innovation and Impact

Library

Our library is an expensive mine of a multitude of resources that promote high standards of learning in our students. We possess a wide collection of books, newspapers, magazines, journals, and other educational publications. Our students are provided with unlimited access to the reference books quoted within their curriculum. Besides this, we stock up on national as well as regional copies of dailies, world-class novels, and classic publications. Our online library, accessible through the intranet, has access to numerous journals and research papers. The college library, which started functioning right from the beginning of the college in 2011, is a key resource of information for the academic community.

A Xerox facility is available in the library. The library is automated using KOHA, a well-known open-source integrated library management software that has a number of advanced features, enabling the college library to become more user-oriented in the current digital era. Besides very suitable and convenient library administrative modules, Koha software can provide a handful of attractive interfaces from the user point of view, like quick search and access to OPAC.

Knowledge Center

At VISAT, we completely understand the limitations of traditional classroom learning and thereby have exercised extra efforts to provide our staff and students with holistic and updated knowledge. Our Knowledge Center has been developed in order to render available different technological resources as well as academic support to all the students and staff to enhance their academic strength through increased potential for research activities, Internet browsing, software development, CAD, and so on. Through a state-of-the-art system, the Knowledge Center is able to impart knowledge in the most effective manner.

DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It aims to collect, store, and disseminate information besides offering computerized services to users, to coordinate efforts for suitable collection development, and also to reduce unnecessary duplication wherever possible. DELNET provides the delivery of individual books as and when required by member libraries and photocopies of articles published in India and abroad through the Inter Library Loan and Document Delivery Services. DELNET has launched a new discovery portal for member libraries. Through this portal, users can access research articles, e-books, e-journals, Thesis, books, and millions of bibliographic records.

To access DELNET resources, click on the below link. Click here to login. For user name and password, please contact the librarian (0485 2259910). As per DELNET Campus, IP-based access has also been activated.

Library Membership

All students and staff of the college are members of the library.

Internet Connection

The entire campus is equipped with Wi-Fi and a constant Internet speed of 300 Mbps (optical fiber network), facilitating seamless academic interactions. We live in an era where we simply cannot ignore the highly meritorious impacts of technology and the depth of knowledge that can be gained from it, with thousands and thousands of articles to provide you with information and a multitude of options to communicate with field experts. This is why we constantly ensure that our students are provided with uninterrupted Internet connectivity so that none of their academic goals remain stagnant on account of not being connected to the rest of the fast-paced world. The Internet facility is available to all of the students and staff, both within the college campus and in the hostels. We also have an active guest network for outsiders to avail of the Internet while on our premises.

Classification and Cataloguing

The arrangement of materials in the library is according to the 23rd edition of Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC). The library follows AACR II for cataloguing of documents.
