Visat Founding Entity

Forging Paths of Innovation and Impact
Knowledge is the nectar of life.

Aiming High since 2011

Founded by the charitable institution Vijnan Foundation in 2011, VISAT Engineering College is an inspired new venture towards the foundation’s educational outreach. The foundation is registered under the Indian Trust Act. A lot of time was spent on discussing the infrastructure and different aspects of the institution that would render it unique and able to take in talented young minds and produce well-rounded individuals ready to face the different challenges that their future professional and personal lives would impose upon them.

Perfecting the Location

Our founders were determined to position the college in an environment that would nurture the students whilst providing them with plenty of opportunities to explore and unwind so that the students are capable of discovering a ‘balance’. The location for the institution was sourced with much thought placed on the importance of the ambience and natural environment of a learning space. For this reason, after much research, a vast and beautiful space was identified in a brilliantly serene and scenic location- Elanji, Piravom in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, bordering the Kottayam district.

Top Teachers, Top Students

The selection of the teaching staff was an intensive process, and each faculty member was appointed following stringent scrutiny, assessing their skills, knowledge and teaching abilities. Initially, this institution was affiliated with the Mahatma Gandhi University, until 2015, following which it has been under the APJ Abdul Kalam University.

Soon after the establishment, VISAT received its accreditations and approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Starting out humbly by offering five undergraduate courses, VISAT had an initial intake of just about 60 students in each discipline. The initial courses offered were: Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications and Civil Engineering.

Onwards and Upwards

Over the past decade, the institution has grown tremendously and shaped the lives of thousands of different students. We have continuously strived to achieve prominent global excellence and upheld our mission of working towards producing qualified world class professionals with a good level of social commitment.
