The Examination Cell plays a crucial role within the institution’s framework of autonomy, ensuring the efficient management of various examination-related tasks. Supported by a dedicated team of staff members from different departments, the Examination Cell, under the leadership of the Controller of Examination, takes charge of a range of responsibilities that are essential for the seamless conduct of examinations and the maintenance of student’s academic records.

Key responsibilities of the Examination Cell include:

Student Performance Records: The Examination Cell is responsible for maintaining comprehensive records of student performance, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation of academic achievements.

Communication Hub: Serving as a central communication hub, the Examination Cell facilitates the flow of information between the Office of the Controller of Examinations and the college. This includes disseminating important notifications and updates related to examinations.

Examination Applications: The Examination Cell handles the distribution and collection of examination applications from students. It plays a pivotal role in streamlining this process, ensuring that applications are submitted to the Office of the Controller of Examinations promptly.

Coordination for Practical and Theory Examinations: The Examination Cell collaborates with the Zonal Office to ensure the smooth and organized conduct of both Practical and Theory Examinations, taking care of logistical and administrative aspects.

Stationery Management: It is responsible for safely storing and managing examination-related stationery, guaranteeing the availability of all necessary materials for conducting examinations.

Student Requests and Documents: The Examination Cell forwards student requests and queries, such as requests for re-evaluation, lost mark statements, certificates, and other related documents, to the relevant authorities for processing and resolution.

Exam Scheduling: The Examination Cell is responsible for creating a comprehensive examination schedule that outlines the dates and times for all examinations, including mid-term exams, end-of-semester exams, and any special or supplementary exams.

Paper Setting and Moderation: It coordinates with faculty members to set examination papers, ensuring that they are fair, balanced, and in line with the curriculum. It may also moderate and review the question papers to maintain quality standards.

Hall Ticket Issuance: The Examination Cell manages the issuance of hall tickets or admit cards to students. It ensures that students receive their hall tickets in a timely manner and that the information on the hall tickets is accurate.

Exam Venue Arrangements: It arranges and prepares the examination venues, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary facilities and resources, including seating, lighting, and examination stationery.

Invigilation and Security: The Examination Cell coordinates with faculty and staff to appoint exam invigilators and security personnel to maintain the integrity of the examination process and prevent malpractice.

Question Paper Distribution: It oversees the secure distribution of question papers to examination venues, maintaining strict confidentiality to prevent leaks.

Answer Script Collection and Evaluation: The Examination Cell collects completed answer scripts, ensures proper labelling and organization, and delivers them to faculty members for evaluation. It also manages the return of evaluated scripts to students.

Coordination with University/Regulatory Bodies: It liaises with university authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with examination-related regulations and standards.

Student Grievance Handling: The Examination Cell often addresses student grievances related to examinations, results, and other academic matters.

To support these functions effectively, the Examination Cell is equipped with modern technology, including up-to-date computer systems, communication networks, high-speed printers, and copiers. This technological infrastructure ensures the efficient management of examination-related tasks and timely responses to students’ needs.

The Examination Cell operates under the direct supervision of the institution’s Principal, who also serves as the Chief Superintendent of examinations. The Chief Superintendent receives valuable assistance from Examinations Coordinators and a team of dedicated clerical staff, all working collaboratively to ensure the successful execution of examination processes and the maintenance of academic records
