Minority Cell

Introduction

The minority cell of the college was established with the purpose of empowering the minority communities in the college. College has been very keen to provide services to the educational and cultural needs of the Minority community along with other caste, creed and Nationality. The Minority Cell basically helps minority students including Christian, Muslim etc. for their academic development.

Objectives
  • To enhance equal opportunities for the education of minorities.
  • To facilitate financial support to students from minority communities from governmental agencies and other sources.
  • To encourage them to enroll for career orientation programmes like WWS, ASAP etc. which would empower and equip them with the necessary skills to choose a career option.
Nature of Activities of The Cell

The Cell is committed to providing assistance to minority students along with Scheduled /Scheduled Tribe students through counselling, personality development, development of communication skills, remedial coaching, tutorial classes, and preparatory classes for professional and employment purposes, etc. The Cell is actively engaged in coordinating and resolving the problems in the matter of conduct of remedial coaching and other measures with a view to see that the education system succeeds in bringing to a level quantitatively as well as qualitatively indistinguishable from the level of the rest of the society. The Cell organizes several educational Schemes.

Personality Development & Communication Skills, and Counselling

The basic objective of this scheme is to improve personality development & communication skills in competing in the practical field in-cooperate with the Career Guidance and Counselling Cell of the college.

Remedial Coaching 

Remedial Coaching is to be organized with a view to (a) improving the academic skills of the students in various subjects, (b) raising their level of comprehension of basic subjects to provide a stronger foundation for further academic work, and (c) strengthening their knowledge, skills and attitudes.

Coaching Classes

The basic objective of the coaching scheme is to help students orient students to participate in the Civil Service Examination.

Coaching for NET/GATE

The objective of the scheme is to train students to appear in NET or SET so that a sufficient number of candidates becomes available for selection of Assistant Professors in the College/University system from these groups.
